Privacy policy

This policy explains what ScoutLoft collects, why, and what you can do about it. We aim to follow India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP).

1. What we collect

• Email, if you subscribe to brand drops, join the waitlist or create an account — along with your consent to be contacted.
• WhatsApp number, only if you give us one for waitlist or brand-drop updates.
• Usage — pages viewed, searches run and outbound clicks to brand stores. This is first-party and aggregate; it tells us which brands people want, not who you are.
• Brand claims and submissions — the name, work email and any proof you send, used only to verify ownership.

2. What we don’t do

We don’t sell personal data, we don’t run third-party advertising trackers, and we don’t process payments — purchases happen on the brands’ own stores, under their policies. We never store your raw IP address: it is hashed before it reaches the database, so we can spot abuse without holding an identifier.

3. Cookies and local storage

We set three small first-party cookies: your analytics-consent choice, an anonymous session identifier, and your chosen city if you pick one. Analytics only run once you have accepted. Saved brands and recently-viewed brands live in your browser’s local storage and are never sent to us — clearing your browser data clears them.

4. Sharing

Data is shared only with the processors that run our infrastructure — hosting, database and email delivery — under contract, and where the law requires it. No one else receives it.

5. Your rights

Email hello@scoutloft.com to access, correct, export or delete your data; we complete deletions within 30 days. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time from the cookie banner, and every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link.

6. Reviews and public content

Reviews you post are shown publicly once approved, along with the name you choose to display. Don’t put anything in a review you wouldn’t want public. Ask us and we’ll remove one you wrote.

7. Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll email account holders before it takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version. Questions go to our contact page.
